Description: Explore the salt marshes and natural beauty of Thompson Island on this 90 minute guided walking tour. After a brief boat ride from Spectacle Island to Thompson, the tour contrasts a classic New England salt marsh and a newly "restored" salt marsh that is giving home to a great diversity of plant and animal life. Thompson's rolling hills and meadows also give clues to a past that includes a Native American trading post, a 19th century farm school, and America's first high school marching band.
