Public Transportation
To reach Fan Pier, take the MBTA Red Line (subway) to the South Station stop. South Station is served by local and interstate buses, commuter rail, and subways (www.mbta.com). AMTRAK (www.amtrak.com) provides interstate passenger service to South Station. From South Station, take any underground MBTA Silver Line bus to the Moakley Courthouse (the first stop). Upon exiting, walk toward the Barking Crab Restaurant, the most visible landmark. Fan Pier is 50 feet to the right of the Barking Crab Restaurant.
From South Station, you may also walk north on Atlantic Avenue, crossing Summer Street, Congress Street, and Seaport Blvd. Just after James Hook & Lobster Co., take right over the old Northern Avenue footbridge, and Fan Pier is just over the bridge on the left.

Option #1: Closest parking, $9.00
Parking lots are available adjacent to the Moakley Federal Courthouse. There is also street meter parking at this location (up to 4 hours). The street meter parking is free on Sundays, but difficult to find.
From the North
Driving southbound on I-93, take exit 23 on the right (Purchase Street). Get in the left hand lane of the exit and bear left at the top of the exit ramp. Proceed straight through the traffic light, across Atlantic Avenue and across the bridge. At the next set of traffic lights take a left onto Sleeper Street. The Moakley Federal Courthouse is straight ahead and Fan Pier is the pier immediately to the left.
From the South
Coming from I-93 North (Southeast Expressway), take Exit 20 on the right toward I-90/Logan Airport/South Station. Then bear left toward Logan Airport/South Boston. You will need to first stay right, and then stay to the left, keeping on the general main road. You will be on East Service Road. Go straight through two sets of lights and follow the road while it curves to the left. You are now on Northern Avenue, and the Moakley Federal Courthouse is the last building on the right.
From Ted Williams Tunnel
From I-90 West (Mass Pike), take Exit 25 toward South Boston. Turn left onto Seaport Boulevard/Northern Avenue. Turn right onto Northern Avenue. The Moakley Federal Courthouse is the last building on the right.
From the West
Coming from I-90 East (Mass Pike), take Exit 25 toward South Boston. Keep left at the fork, and then bear right onto Congress Street. Turn left onto B Street, and then left onto Seaport Boulevard/Northern Avenue. Turn onto Northern Avenue; the Moakley Federal Courthouse is the last building on the right.
Option #2: Weekend $5.00 parking
The parking garage at International Place (5 min. walk) offers a special rate for visitors to Boston Harbor Islands. Bring your parking stub to Fan Pier and a ranger will validate it, making the total parking fee $5.00 per day. This is for SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS only.
From the North
Take I-93 South to Exit 2A, Government Center. Take a left at the end of the ramp. Go through six (6) sets of lights. Take right onto High Street. Take a left onto Oliver Street and follow the street until you see the entrance to the International Place Parking Garage.
From the South
Take I-93 North to Exit 23, Government Center. Follow Government Center/Aquarium sign (left lane). Take left onto Surface Road. Go through seven (7) sets of lights. Take a right onto High Street. Take a left onto Oliver Street and follow the street until you see the entrance to the International Place Parking Garage.
From East / Logan Airport
Use Exit 24 & 25 to I-93 North. Take I-93 North to Exit 23, Government Center. Follow Government Center / Aquarium sign (left lane). Take left onto Surface road. Go through seven (7) sets of lights. Take right onto High Street. Take a right onto High Street. Take a left onto Oliver Street and follow the street until you see the entrance to the International Place Parking Garage.
From the West / I-90 (Mass. Pike)
Take I-93 North exit. Follow 93 North to Exit 23, Government Center. Follow Government Center / Aquarium sign (left lane). Take left onto Surface Road. Go through seven (7) sets of lights. Take a right onto High Street. Take a left onto Oliver Street and follow the street until you see the entrance to the International Place Parking Garage.
Walking directions from International Place to Fan Pier
Go up to Level 1 from any parking level (P1-P4). Go out the nearest exit and take a right down Oliver Street. Take a right down High Street. Carefully cross Atlantic Avenue, and walk under the Boston Harbor Hotel archway. Take a right and walk past Rowe's Wharf. Take a left onto Old Northern Avenue Footbridge. Fan Pier is just over this bridge on the left.
