Daily Summer Service
The boat servicing Hingham also serves as an interisland shuttle (Southern Loop). The boat arrives on Georges Island, making frequent stops on Bumpkin, Grape, Lovells, and Peddocks. Visitors on Georges Island may transfer to this boat to get to those islands for a $3.00 fee. Passengers that start at Hingham pay the full ferry fare, no additional fee is required.

Public Transportation

Take MBTA Red Line to Quincy Center Station. Take Hingham Bus 220 to Hingham Shipyard, Hewitts Cove. Get off on 3A and walk into the Shipyard; follow paved road past the smokestack until you reach Building 45 with the Boston Harbor Islands park sign in front of it.

Driving Directions

From I-93
Head South on the expressway towards Quincy. Get off on Rt. 3A South Exit 12. Follow Rte. 3A until you see signs for Wollaston Beach/Quincy Shore Drive bear left onto Quincy Shore Drive. Follow until it rejoins Rte. 3A in Quincy. Continue on Rt. 3A South. You will go around a traffic circle, then over a large drawbridge. After going over another small bridge, look for LINCOLN PLAZA on your right. Take a left at the next light into the Hewitts Cove/Hingham Shipyard entrance and follow sign to the ferry dock. Continue on paved road, look for a grey building on your left.

From other Locales
Take the MA Route 228 Exit 14 towards Nantasket Beach. Follow Rte. 228 through Hingham until Rt.228 intersects with Rt. 3A North towards Weymouth. About a mile after the Hingham traffic circle look for a big smokestack. Take a right at the light into Hewitts Cove/Hingham Shipyard.
